For Couples
This week’s featured couple is married under this candle-lit ceremony in Tavoli Terrace Laguna Beach
This small and private venue is great for a romantic garden wedding. It really reminds me of that move The Secret Garden, the moment you peek through the leaves a whole new world is tucked away from the hustle of busy road leading to the beach.
Being a January wedding, you’d think you’d be dealing with Winter weather, but in fact with all the excitement in the air as well as the wonderful California beach right next to you, it was absolutely delightful.
With Laguna Beach becoming the most popular destination for our clients, I think it’s really great if you can pick and choose things that aren’t typical. I love highlighting a couple’s choice to branch out of the trending things we’re seeing and do something that is totally their own.
There will always be a similar feeling in weddings, but tweaking it in your own style will really be something special for you.
If getting married and planning our own wedding has taught me anything, it’s that the planning itself is the first test of your marriage together. I really cringe when I hear that (typically) the husband just “shows up”, because I definitely wouldn’t want a partner that “just show’s up” in the rest of our lives together.
Take this opportunity to learn even more about each other and plan things together. It doesn’t have to 50/50 but there has to be real effort from both sides.
Highlights:
The forest green bridesmaids dresses: We don’t normally see this in the wedding season, so it was a welcome change. Also it really played up the green of the sea behind them.
Candle-lit ceremony: super romantic with ambient light
The amethyst engagement ring: I’m always interested in the non-traditional aspects of wedding details.
