Colorful Summer Rooftop Wedding at The Oviatt DTLA with Elana and Brock

For Elana and Brock, Los Angeles is home—and the city has always been part of their love story. Many of their earliest dates took place on rooftops throughout Downtown Los Angeles, making a rooftop wedding at The Oviatt feel like a natural reflection of who they are as a couple.

Their summer wedding at The Oviatt DTLA brought together everything they love about the city: an urban setting, a funky and eclectic atmosphere, and plenty of personality. The venue’s iconic Art Deco architecture provided a sophisticated backdrop while their colorful reception design added an unexpected, playful energy to the space.

A Private Moment Above Downtown LA

The newlyweds stepped onto the bridal balcony and were greeted by the sounds of summer concerts at Pershing Square below. Music filled the air as crowds gathered throughout Downtown LA, creating an unexpected soundtrack to their wedding day.

With the summer breeze around them and the city glowing below, Elana and Brock shared a private dance on the balcony—just the two of them.

For a moment, the busy city seemed to slow down. Below them, Los Angeles was celebrating in its own way, while above it all, the newlyweds had a quiet moment entirely to themselves.

An Eclectic Art Deco Wedding Reception

As photographers, we especially loved Elana and Brock’s vision for their reception. Rather than following a traditional wedding palette, they embraced a colorful, eclectic design that complemented the bold Art Deco character of The Oviatt.

The result felt vibrant without losing the elegance of the historic venue. Rich colors, distinctive details, and the architectural surroundings came together to create a reception that felt unmistakably theirs.

The Oviatt wasn’t simply a beautiful wedding venue for Elana and Brock. It was a piece of the city where their story began, making their Downtown LA wedding feel personal, colorful, and completely authentic to them.
