There is something deeply romantic about an engagement session that captures both the quiet, everyday moments of a relationship and the grand adventure of a future together. For Thai and Minh, we spent the afternoon exploring two of Southern California’s most contrasting and beautiful gems: Old Town Orange and the Redwoods of Orange County.
A Nostalgic Morning at the Orange Circle
Our session began in the heart of Old Town Orange, specifically the historic “Plaza Circle.” This area is famous for its 19th-century architecture, antique shops, and that unmistakable small-town feel.
Thai and Minh started their day with a classic “date night” vibe—grabbing a warm sip of coffee and strolling past the vintage storefronts. The brick backdrops and mid-century aesthetic of the Orange Circle provided a warm, lived-in feel to their photos. It’s the perfect spot for couples who want their engagement photos to feel like a real-life Sunday morning.
Exploring Downtown Orange
As we walked around the downtown blocks, we captured the playful energy between Thai and Minh. Between the hidden alleyways and the iconic fountain at the center of the plaza, every corner of this district offers a new texture. The mix of urban history and vibrant street life makes an Old Town Orange engagement session feel timeless.
Chasing the Light in the Orange County Redwoods
To finish the day, we traded the brick and mortar for the towering heights of the Redwoods at Carbon Canyon Regional Park. Most people don’t realize you can find a 3-acre grove of majestic Coast Redwoods right here in Brea!
The transition from the sunny streets of Orange to the filtered, golden light of the Redwood grove was breathtaking. As the sun began to dip, the shadows stretched through the trees, creating a moody, ethereal atmosphere for Thai and Minh’s final portraits. Walking through the fallen needles and massive trunks, it felt as though we had been transported 400 miles north to Big Sur.
