The Best Wedding Day: Jenna & Armando at The Oaks
Many people recognize Jenna as the lead photographer at KLV Photography. She has been a powerhouse on our team for ten years. However, I simply know her as my sister-in-law. I have witnessed her and Armando’s journey from the very beginning. From capturing their Lake Arrowhead engagement to this wedding day, the experience felt like a complete circle.
The Venue: The Oaks at Duncan Lane
The Oaks at Duncan Lane is a hidden gem in Pala, California. This venue features sprawling, ancient oak trees. These trees create a natural cathedral of golden-green light. Consequently, the outdoor space feels both expansive and incredibly private. It is the perfect spot for a refined, rustic wedding in the San Diego backcountry.
A Handcrafted Labor of Love
Jenna brought her professional eye to her own big day. Specifically, she hand-crafted the synthetic floral arrangements herself. Her DIY touch completely transformed the venue. Furthermore, the rich tones anchored the outdoor space perfectly. Because of her hard work, a warm November afternoon felt exactly like the height of autumn.
Behind the Lens for My Family
Our incredible team members, Nathan and Danilo, handled most of the day’s coverage. Meanwhile, I took the lead on Jenna’s most intimate moments. I photographed her bridal preparations and the heartfelt first looks with her parents.
Admittedly, I also had the very first “First Look.” It was a major perk of being the photographer brother! I captured their romantic portraits during the golden hour as well. While I tried to stay focused, holding back tears was no easy task. I simply wanted to get the best possible shots for her.
An Intimate First Dance and Speeches
As the stars appeared, the day shifted into a true family celebration. Watching Jenna and Armando during their first dance was a moment of pure clarity. In the middle of the crowd, they looked like the only two people in the world. Their dance was an intimate display of a decade of growth.
The emotions finally broke through when my wife gave her speech. Hearing her speak from the heart to her sister was incredibly moving. She shared their history, their laughter, and their deep bond. Therefore, it reminded me why we document these pillars of family history at KLV Photography.
A Night to Remember in Pala
We ended the night in the best way possible. We were surrounded by our closest friends and family while the cool Pala breeze settled in. Together, we recollected the day’s best moments. Armando, welcome officially to the family. Jenna, you were a breathtaking bride. You remain an amazing partner in this creative journey we share. Here’s to a lifetime of adventures!
