Some love stories are written in the stars, but Judy and Jonathan’s was written in the heart of Los Angeles. Their journey, which began over margaritas at Chica’s Tacos in Culver City, reached new heights with a breathtaking Oviatt Penthouse DTLA wedding.
From Culver City to South Korea
Judy and Jonathan’s story is a true LA romance. After a first date that turned into a six-hour conversation, their bond only grew stronger. From moving into their first apartment to buying a home in the historic West Adams neighborhood—just miles from where Judy grew up—every milestone has been intentional.
The ultimate “milestone” happened on April Fools’ Day in 2023, but the proposal was no joke. Atop Hallasan on Jeju Island, South Korea, Jonathan asked Judy to spend forever with him amidst breathtaking scenery that matched the depth of their commitment.
The Iconic Oviatt Penthouse in DTLA
For their wedding, the couple chose the legendary Oviatt Penthouse. Located atop the James Oviatt Building, this venue is a masterpiece of Art Deco design. Originally built in 1928, it features:
- Original Lalique Glass: Ornate details that transport guests back to the Roaring Twenties.
- The Rooftop Terrace: Offering a panoramic view of the DTLA skyline, perfect for an open-air ceremony.
- Old Hollywood Vibes: A sophisticated atmosphere that feels like a private, high-end estate in the sky.
