For Couples
Today we venture to the quaint and surprising beautiful town of Carmel, CA. This place is known for it’s bed and breakfasts as well as it’s gorgeous coasts. I always think about Charlie’s Angels when I hear Carmel, but it’s the cliffside that calls to so many travelers.
Speaking of travel, we flew out to Carmel on a day that was saved from the El Nino rains and replaced by epic cloud cover. Which made for some great shots with the sun spilling through. After visiting Carmel, Kevin was convinced I’d love it for a mini vacay from the OC life.
Meet Ivan and Lyra
First of all, don’t those names just take you back to a Dr. Zhivago moment? Just me? Anyway, these two picked this lovely spot for their engagement because this is where their first dates were. When I look at this Bixby Creek Bridge engagement, it ties the modernization of our world with the incredible face of Carmel’s awesome rugged nature, keeping things in balance. Much like a healthy relationship, it’s the joining of two epic things making something greater.
Some Highlights
Playing with perspective: Epic backdrops call for epic angles. Lots of fun with the scale of things in this session.
Lyra’s flowing lavender dress: I love the way the wind catches it, if your engagement is on a windy day, take advantage of it!
The Bixby Bridge: Built in the 1930’s, 700 ft. long and 200+ ft. tall.
